In short
Our standard studio session is £195, which includes the photoshoot and a 7×5-inch photograph or £65 credit. Digital collections start at £325 for five images, framed wall art starts at £325, and a standalone set of three prints is £195. There’s no obligation to buy anything extra.
If you’re thinking about booking a family, baby or dog photoshoot, one of your first questions is probably, “How much is this going to cost me?” It’s a perfectly sensible question. You wouldn’t book a holiday without having some idea of the price!
I’m John, the photographer behind Two Front Teeth Photography in Cheltenham. I’d rather explain our prices properly than make you play detective. We offer a professional studio experience, digital collections, beautiful printed photographs and framed wall art. You choose what you love and what suits your budget. There’s no obligation to buy extra photographs after your session.
Our standard studio photography session is £195. That includes the photoshoot itself and a 7×5-inch photograph (normally £65), or £65 credit towards another photographic product. We also run occasional competitions and special offers, so the exact offer on your invitation may be different. If you have a voucher, we’ll explain exactly what’s included before you visit.
The session is about much more than standing still and saying cheese. I take the time to help people relax, get children interested, and persuade dogs that the camera is not some sort of suspicious new household appliance. Treats, toys, bubbles and a little patience can work wonders. It’s one-to-one, and we’re not trying to rush you through on a conveyor belt. I’ve been photographing families for well over 25 years now, and I think the most important thing is to get people relaxed and enjoying the session; this is what gets the best photos, and that includes dogs!
Afterwards, you can view your photographs and decide what you’d like to keep. Some people want just the included photograph. Others fall in love with a set of images or a large framed picture for their home. Both choices are absolutely fine.
The viewing doesn’t happen on the day. We have a fair bit of work to do to get them ready for you to see. We may take over 300 photos, but we’ll want to narrow them down for you so you don’t have to trawl through quite so many!
So before you come over to the studio, have a good think about what you’re looking for from the shoot.
You may want to go for digital images where You are looking for a number of pictures and want to share them around with other family members. This is a great option because you can Print each digital image as many times as you want.
On the other hand, you may want something for the wall, in which case we do the most fantastic wall hanging frames that will last a lifetime and look fantastic hanging up in your house.
When it comes to the cost of images, we are careful not to charge too much, but on the other hand, we really don’t want to charge so little that the quality drops. The key is getting the balance between the most fantastic images perfectly presented and also not causing a huge hole in your pocket. Below are a few examples and ideas that will give you an idea of what we charge and what you can expect to get for your hard-earned money.
Our digital collections are designed to give you choices, rather than force everyone into one enormous package. They come presented as something you can actually enjoy opening – not simply a handful of files arriving in an anonymous email.
Our smaller collection, with five selected digital images on USB, a presentation box, prints and keepsake touches including a mini contact sheet, a Two Front Teeth newspaper-style front page and a photographer-signed certificate. This collection does not include a musical slideshow.
Ten selected digital photographs, plus two 8×6-inch fine-art prints and a slideshow set to music. The presentation also includes the box, mini contact sheet, newspaper-style page and signed certificate.
A larger collection for those who struggle to narrow down their favourites. The working structure includes three prints, the music slideshow and the presentation keepsakes. We’re finalising the price before publication.
Twenty selected digital photographs, four prints up to 10×8 inches, a music slideshow and the presentation extras. Ideal when there are simply too many lovely expressions to leave behind.
Those are the collection prices in our current working structure. We’ll confirm the exact finished contents with you before ordering, and any special-offer inclusions will be explained separately.
Because the photographs are the main event, of course – but the way they arrive matters too. There’s something lovely about opening a proper box, seeing a few favourite pictures in print, and discovering little details that make the collection feel like yours. The contact sheet is a reminder of the whole set; the newspaper-style page and signed certificate add a personal touch. It should feel less like collecting a computer file and more like bringing home part of your family story.
And yes, digital files are useful. You can share them with family or enjoy them on your devices. I just don’t think a USB tucked in a drawer should be the only place the best photograph of your children ends up.
Not everybody wants digital files, and that’s perfectly reasonable. Our standalone print collection is three professional prints up to 10×12 inches for £195. If you’re purchasing a USB collection, you can also add five prints from those purchased images for £45, or ten for £65, in sizes up to 10×12 inches. These lower-priced print packs are add-ons for digital-collection customers, not standalone offers.
You’re welcome to collect from the studio. If you need your order posted, we can arrange secure delivery for an additional charge.
There’s something wonderful about walking past a photograph of someone you love every day. A properly made framed portrait is furniture for the heart, if you’ll forgive me getting a little sentimental. It also saves your favourite photograph from spending the next decade somewhere between a takeaway menu and an old gas bill.
Here are the four framed collections in our current pricing structure:
| Collection | Size | Price | Digital/USB credit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Classic | 22×18 in | £325 | £100 |
| Statement | 20×30 in | £475 | £120 |
| Gallery | 20×40 in | £585 | £150 |
| Grand | 30×40 in | £950 | £200 |
The Statement design can feature up to three photographs and the Gallery design up to five; the Grand is designed around one image. We’ll help you choose a layout that works rather than squeezing pictures in simply because there’s space.
Our standard fine-art finish and glass are already included. If your frame is going opposite a window or somewhere with strong reflections, optional art glass is available: £65 for Classic, £80 for Statement, £105 for Gallery and £200 for Grand. Standard glass isn’t “bad glass”; art glass is just useful in certain rooms. We can show you the difference.
I’m all for phone snapshots and holiday pictures. They’re brilliant. But a photograph you want to hang on your wall for years deserves a bit more thought. For our fine-art wall pieces we use heavyweight Hahnemühle cotton fine-art paper with professional pigment inks, made for beautiful colour, detail and long-term display.
One of the papers in our working specification is Hahnemühle Photo Rag Baryta, 315gsm, made from 100% cotton. We care about paper, inks and presentation because they influence how a print looks and ages. No responsible photographer should promise that a print will look exactly the same after a fixed number of years, whatever the light and conditions in your home. We’ll happily explain how to look after it.
Here’s the reason this matters so much to me. Back in about 1986, when I was roughly 16 and had just started studying photography at college, I took a photograph of my family. It includes my cousins, my sister, my parents, my auntie, my grandparents and my great auntie. At the time, it was simply a picture of us together.
Today, some of the people in that photograph are no longer with us. My parents in it are younger than I am now. I still have the picture on my wall and, nearly 40 years later, it means so much more than it did on the day I pressed the shutter.
That’s the funny thing about photographs: you often can’t see their full value at the moment you take them. They’re a bit like a good bottle of wine – they can become more precious with age. Thankfully, you don’t need to keep a photograph in a cellar.
That family picture is one reason I believe in making something you can hold, frame and pass on. Your favourite photograph might just be the one your children treasure when they’re older.
Two Front Teeth isn’t a big franchise. It’s a small, independent Cheltenham studio, and that shapes how I work. I want to remember the people who come through our door, be patient when a toddler needs a break, and give a nervous dog time to realise we’re all friends here. We have families travelling to us from across Gloucestershire and sometimes further afield, so I know visiting the studio is part of their day, not just another errand.
I’ve spent more than 25 years photographing people and pets, and I still love the moment when someone sees a photograph and says, “Oh, that’s so them.” That’s what we’re aiming for: real expressions, real personalities and photographs you genuinely want to live with.
I also believe pricing should be straightforward. Beautiful products take time, skilled work and good materials – and they do have a cost. But you shouldn’t have to sit through a hard sell, or feel awkward about what you can afford. We’ll show you the options and let you decide.
Our USB collections are usually ready in around two weeks. Framed wall art generally takes around four to five weeks, because we want the printing and framing done properly. We’ll tell you if there’s anything that changes those timings.
No. You can enjoy your session and choose only what’s included in your booking or voucher. Any extras are entirely your decision.
Yes – that’s precisely why we’ve written this guide. We’ll explain any different promotional offers too.
Of course. Our digital collections can be paired with additional print packs, and some collections already include prints.
Absolutely. We can talk through sizes, groupings and where a framed photograph might sit in your home. We’ll help you choose what works, not just what’s biggest.
You’ll be in good company. We’re used to children with opinions and dogs with even stronger ones. We build in patience and have a few tricks – and treats – up our sleeves.
Yes, from time to time. Competition prizes and vouchers can include different things from the standard session, so please check the details of your particular invitation.
I’d love you to leave with photographs that make you smile today – and, if I’ve done my job properly, mean something even bigger in the years to come. Whether that’s a single favourite print, a USB collection or a family portrait taking pride of place on your wall, it should feel right for you.
If you have a question about prices, what’s included, or whether we’re the right studio for your family or dog, just ask. We’re always happy to have a chat. – John
