Planning your photo shoot is key to a successful portrait session. To help you relax and get great results during the portrait session, we recommend you spent a little time thinking about the sort of pictures you would like and coming prepared.

1) Clothing is one of the most important things to consider before you photography shoot. We recommend you bring a number of different clothes with you. For groups (especially large family groups) talk to each other before setting off. Try and coordinate with each other. We find wearing a mixture of light and dark clothes works best, but don’t wear to many colours or patterns! Decide between yourselves if you want formal or casual wear.
2) You may also want to consider bringing in personal items that have special meaning or highlight a specific occasion, particularly for your children. A special teddy they have had from birth. That special outfit that will provoke memories in the future (may be they spent most of a family holiday in it?)
We like the photographs to really sum up children are like now. If they have any interests like sport, dance music feel free to bring props and outfits. Fairy and princess outfits are often a nice idea for younger girls.
3) Style your hair or have a haircut if necessary. For women, apply make up with natural look, but generally we tend to photograph you looking natural, so for most people just put on what you would normally wear.
4) Consider bringing some accessories to help the look that you like for your portraits. Wear accessories e.g. jewelry, watches, belts, ties, shoes. Hats can look great especially on children; it really draws the focus of the picture to the eyes.

5) Have a good rest and sleep the day before the photo shoot.
6) Finally, relax and enjoy the shoot and have fun. We are sure you will relax before you know it. The sessions are very relaxed and there is no pressure to suddenly walk in front of the camera and be Britain’s next top model We think you will be very surprised just now much you will enjoy the studio session, even teenagers have had to admit they enjoyed the experience!
